Meet Mrs. Kumi
Kumiko Barnes · Founder & Director
Mrs. Kumi has spent more than twenty years caring for and teaching young children. With a background in Psychology and Child Development, she opened PreSchool Prep in 2012 to give California families something hard to find: a licensed, loving in-home program that works around real schedules — including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
She leads a large, mixed-aged home where infants nap on their own rhythm, preschoolers write their names, and school-age kids finish homework before pickup — supported by contracted educators in art, math, science, history, and movement.
